Legal Advice - Landlord is Threatening Eviction Because Patio Chairs Have Cloth Cushion

I swear as ridiculous as this sounds, this is not a troll post. I can attach redacted pictures of the non-compliance notices if needed. This is in Florida.

I apologize if this ends up being long as I wanted to include as much detail as possible.

On October 2nd, we received the first notice of non-compliance, quoting the section of our lease that says, "The apartment and other areas reserved for your private use must be kept clean and free of trash, garbage, and other debris. You agree to keep all passageways and common areas free of obstructions such as trash, storage items, and all forms of personal property." We were given 7 days to rectify it.

At first I thought they were referring to some trash bags. I had done a massive cleaning of the apartment, including dumping the litter boxes and set the trash outside to take to the dumpster. My husband was bed-bound with an injury so between caring for him and taking him to the ER three times, taking care of our son, myself, and working, it took maybe three days for me to get the trash to the dumpster. That was absolutely my fault of course, so I cleaned up the trash and figured that would be the end of it. October 9th comes and goes and not a word from the office.

Well yesterday, October 16, we get a second notice of non-compliance reiterating the same passage as before and saying we have 7 days to fix it or they'll terminate the lease and evict us. It also says if a violation occurs again with 12 months, they'll terminate and evict. So I email our leasing agent asking her to clarify what the violation is and she responds that because the chairs on our patio have cloth, they're not "patio furniture" and violate our lease. For reference, our chairs are bamboo swivel barstools with a floral seat cushion. Very "tiki-bar" vibe. It's also worth mentioning we've lived in this unit and have had the chairs out there since June 2019. The property manager has been by multiple times for maintenance, inspections, repairs, etc. And never said anything.

So I guess my questions are:

    1. Are they really allowed to regulate what constitutes patio furniture?

    2. What are the legalities of this situation in general? How enforceable is this? Can they really evict us because our patio chairs have cloth?

    3. If this does end up on court for whatever reason, how likely is it that a judge is gonna rule in the landlord's favor?

This is so mind-blowingly stupid that I don't even know how to proceed.

Edit: here's a picture of the chair

Lived in a house for 4 years and never received any notice of HOA or dues. Now they say we owe 5 years worth of dues including prior to us living here.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 05:47 PM PDT

    Hello /r/legaladvice,

We moved into a house in April 2015. During closing, we were told that the HOA was "defunct". Our closing paperwork did not include anything about the HOA. Today, we received a notice in our mail going back with dues owed from February 2015 to present. The previous owner occupied the home during February and March 2015. I had to do some Googling to even find the CC&R's (which are in a copy of a copy of a copy on a PDF on NextDoor). The CC&R's were created in 1994 and state that HOA dues are owed by the current owners of the home at the time of invoice. We have never received anything in the mail prior to this, no notice on our door, no neighbors knocking on our doors, nothing.

So my question is even though we weren't provided with any notice of HOA anything and didn't sign anything during closing, do we legally still owe dues back to February 2015? Remember that we moved into the home in April 2015. I've sent some clarifying questions to the HOA's PO Box but would like to know if I am legally obligated to pay this since there were no previous notices.

    edit: Location is Oregon.

Do I have to share my McDonald’s Monopoly reward?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 12:41 PM PDT

My friend plans on bringing me to court because I won $1000 from a McDonald's monopoly reward. This is my side of the story: Me and my friend decide to get McDonald's, she offers to pay on her card then I say I'll e transfer her my portion of the order. So the SkipTheDishes person arrives and we all dig in, after I ate I peeled off all my monopoly stickers and the winning one is on my medium coke drink, as I was so filled of excitement, I jump up and said "I won!" She was happy for at the time. Days later, she approaches me and says she deserves half of that money since she paid on her card. Does she have any recourse in this situation? I know it was her debit card that was used to purchase the food, but I e transfered her my portion and the sticker was on my food.

Our property management is trying to split us up.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 04:47 PM PDT

The property we have lived at for almost 4yrs, in West Jordan Utah, just blind sided us was something serious. We went in to renew our lease today, which expires October 31. I went in and spoke to them almost 2 months ago about it, because they require a 60 day notice to vacate.

Well today, we went in because they had our new lease written up as 12 months rather than the 6 months we requested... when o asked for it to be fixed, they fired back spitefully, telling us that my wife needs to apply to be on the lease for some reason. All of a sudden they are saying she was not on the lease... after almost 4 years!

They made us fill out an application for her, and charged us $40 for that. They also advised us that if an eviction pops up, my wife will be removed and trespassed from the property.

Well she does, in fact, have an eviction from 6yrs ago. When she found this apartment, and arranged everything, this issue never arose... but now all of a sudden, here it is.

Is this even legal?? Is there something we can do? We do not have the money or time to just find a new place to live out of nowhere like this.

And now that I'm within the 60 day period for vacating without penalty... They are trying to keep me here, and evict my wife! Wtf!?!

I went outside and immediately tried calling attorneys, which was pretty hard on a Saturday... and while I was doing that, they ran MY credit, instead of hers, without my authorization! I don't even know why they ran my credit!?!

We have never been late on rent or missed any payments. We have never caused any disturbances or had any infractions... not even a warning for anything, in the last almost 4yrs. One time they towed my car out of my assigned carport, for no reason, and I didn't even bother with them about it!

This has come completely out of left field. I find it pretty convenient for them to have waited till 14 days before our lease expires... when they have that 60 day notice policy... especially because I was in there 2 months ago discussing my lease options, then my wife was in there a month ago letting them know what we planned to do. My wife has been the one handling everything with this apartment, since SHE found it. I was still living in Washington when she secured this place.

We are very much in panic mode right now, so please forgive the scattered thoughts and info.

Does anyone have any advice? I have no clue what to do!!!

    [TX] theft of services?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 04:54 PM PDT

I run a lawn mowing business. New customer and she wanted a mulch job and mowing done. Gave her quote and we made a deal. She didn't want to pay upfront so I said you have to cover material at least. After I finished she was hesitant to pay the remainder. It was paid eventually.

Two weeks later and she's due for another cut. She texts me a day before and I said yes, we are on for tomorrow. She says cool.

I get there and mow. Her neighbors saw me mow and I took pics and video. Usually don't but something felt off. She blocks me and is avoiding payment. No answer on the door.

Left a enveloped note on her door the next day reminding her of payment.

I looked up theft of services . Not sure how to proceed after this. People say to let it go and learned lesson, but I can't live with that. She owns a salon and if someone ran out on her she would for sure pursue this, why can't I?

Roommate put my stuff outside, and...

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 07:58 PM PDT

Location is USA. So, my roommate put a lot of my property outside when I was away from the house. I'd came home about an hour before it'd started raining. She left my brand new Nintendo Switch out there, along with an older computer of mine...

This roommate is a woman about 14 years older than I am. She owns a house and I pay rent monthly. It's not as costly as an average apartment, but it's 300/month.

She suddenly flipped out because I went to hang out with another woman. She always tells me she's not interested in me in a romantic sense, but then does something like this. I made sure to tell her clearly that her and I are not going out, and that we aren't a couple, her reply was always just fine with that. Then she does something like this...

She claims that since the house is her's, she can do whatever she wants with my property... including vandalizing my electronics. It just doesn't seem right to me. I took pictures of my stuff outside of the house, but I'm not sure if that's enough. I mean, in theory, I could've potentially done that myself. Advice?

Former cam girl trying to get a profile taken down from a Russian website that stole my content and some personal info. I filled out a DMCA form on their website with my real name. What do I do if they add my real name to the profile they created?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 06:23 PM PDT

I used to stream on Chaturbate, and a website called web2sex.com made a profile for my stream without my permission. This profile includes one explicit photo of me, the state I live in, my DOB, and my performer name. There's also a section where they would have put my real name, but they instead wrote my performer name again.

There was a DMCA form on the site for content takedown. It required a full legal name and email, so like a dumbass, I provided my real, full legal name and real email address. The page was written in broken English, and when I hit submit, I got an error page - no confirmations. I later realized that my location was private on Chaturbate, so the only way for them to know that was by hacking or other illegitimate means. I also learned that they're based in Russia.

So now, I don't believe that DMCA form was real. I think it was an attempt for this website to obtain my real name to add to the profile with all of my other personal information and the photo. I have an uncommon last name, so my name and state alone are enough for people to find my parents' address and endanger or harass them and my 16 year old sister. It's super distressing to think I endangered the family. I also don't want this on Google because I'm going to school to become a therapist. This would ruin my career. It shows up as a top result on Google for my performer name, and everything that has my name quoted in it winds up on page 1 or 2 of a Google search for me.

Any time I look up how to have leaked cam girl information removed, I only see help for revenge porn. That's not what this is. What help is there for cam girls whose personal info got leaked? If this website takes my real, full legal name from the DMCA form and publishes it to the profile they created with my other personal info, what can I do to get it taken down so I can keep my family safe?

EDIT: I don't even have an account on Chaturbate anymore. As far as I can tell, this is the only profile created for me with my pic and info.

Car accident with an at-fault cop in Southern California.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 02:45 PM PDT

I wasn't sure what flair to use, tbh.

At 1:20 on 10/16/20, my brothers car was t-boned by a San Bernardino Police Officer. I posted about this on r/inlandempire and they all suggested I posted here as well. I posted there asking if anyone had maybe seen the accident.

I was the only passenger with injuries (I was sitting front passenger side which is where impact happened). My injuries aren't severe, but I am hurt.

My brother was no where near at fault for the accident. I'm happy to provide more details or pictures if needed.

My parents are getting a lawyer, but I'd like to help them in any way possible with advice.

    Thank you all in advance.

EDIT: Thank you all for your advice! We have a lot more to look into and I very much appreciate it.

[NY] My boss is trying to suggest for me to quit because of my medical condition. What can I do?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 02:18 PM PDT

I'm a minor who has Raynaud's disease and I'm working at a McDonald's, typically in the coldest area of the store, the "back booth" drive thru area. I started in the summer, so my disease didn't affect me back then, but now because it's starting to get colder (especially at nights) my disease is affecting me. I tried to talk to him about it today and he basically told me that I'm going to be put back there regardless of my medical issue and said that if I can't then maybe I should quit.

Can I do anything beside quitting? I'm in NY State.

Squatter Has Been Living On My Mom's Property During Covid Eviction Moratorium...Not Sure How To Help My Mom

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 11:28 AM PDT

My mother and father were estranged for years but both owned a house together, which my mother lived in since they separated about ten years ago after a domestic violence incident and subsequent restraining order.

A couple years ago, my father got terminal cancer and insisted that he be able to move back in to the house. My mother didn't want to live with him due to their history. They both got lawyers and decided that my father should be able to live in the house until he passed away and that my mother would move back in after he passed.

While my father was sick, my uncle (father's brother) moved in to the house to take care of him. My father died, and no one informed our family until a couple months after the fact. My mother returned to the house to find out that my uncle had been squatting there. When my Mom asked him to leave, he refused and told her that she would need to evict him. Around this time, the coronavirus shutdown began and an eviction moratorium went into effect.

So my uncle continued to squat at the house for several months. My Mom recently returned to the house and my uncle threatened her, causing a public scene and screaming at her not to touch anything at the property because it belonged to my father. Cops were called and they told her to take my uncle to court.

I am not sure how to help my Mom. She has been sleeping on couches for almost a year and needs to get back into the house. My father left a will stating that the property and assets belong to my mother and myself--my uncle has no legal right to the property or any of the assets.

Though my mother owns the house, she is low-income and has been hit hard by covid. The lawyer that she had when dealing with the will says he cannot help because he doesn't specialize in evictions.

My question is--what should my Mom do? The latest news is that the eviction moratorium will be extended until the end of December. Can she do anything in the meantime? Does anyone know what kind of legal advice she should seek and is there any way to avoid a lawyer who would charge $400/hour? Is this something that can be settled in a small claims court? I wish I could give her advice on what path to take.

Any advice would greatly be appreciated--this problem has been plaguing our family all year and I just want my Mom to be able to return to her own property.

Coworker is being threatened with termination for having to leave work to go to the hospital after she fell and hit her head (Ohio).

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 05:57 PM PDT

I am posting this on behalf of my coworker, who doesn't use Reddit.

Like the title states, my coworker fell and hit her head (at work and on the clock) over the summer. She decided to go to the hospital after she woke up with no memory of the incident, but a customer told her what happened.

I fully admit she has had issues with attendance in the past, but most, if not all, have been because of a range of health issues causing both her and her husband to be hospitalized. The company is now telling her that after a suspension due to absenteeism, any further write-ups (including the intended one for her hospitalization) will result in an indefinite suspension and subsequent termination.

I suppose my question is: who should she talk to about this? Our Union representatives have all just let everything management does go unquestioned, and at this point, she is on the verge of resigning due to stress from the hostile behavior of management. We are both at a loss.

EDIT: was notified I had used the wrong term and corrected it.

USPS claiming neighbors package was delivered to my house when it wasn’t, neighbor is threatening to sue me.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 07:29 PM PDT

Located in CT. I received angry and threatening calls from my neighbor (I just moved here a few months ago and don't know the neighbors) she claims the post office tracked her undelivered package and were able to locate with GPS that it was delivered to my house and that I need to return her package. Well I have a ring sensor camera that records every movement outside my door and I can prove the package wasn't delivered, I received no deliveries on the day in question. Thank God! Because I am a bit of a shopaholic and get 1-8 packages a day sometimes. But she's claiming I've stolen her package and is filing with court on Monday. I don't even know what said package in question could possibly contain that she can't contact Amazon and have it replaced as she happened to tell me it was from Amazon. Also she tells me my realtor gave her my number! Could I actually be liable for something I never received and maybe was stolen? Also my camera does have a blind spot that I guess they could claim could have been where the package was placed but you would see me or my husband walk inside with the package at some point which we don't! Idk please give me advice.

    edit: to add location

Is it ever justifiable for a man to physically restrain a romantic partner to prevent her from leaving her house?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 02:51 PM PDT

Hey everyone! I'm seeking a restraining order against an extremely abusive partner who isolated me from friends and family, convinced me I was crazy, and then began systematically emotionally, mentally, physically, verbally and sexually abusing me in ways I won't go too much into. However.

One of the examples I cited related to a time when he refused to leave my home and then, when I attempted to leave, he physically wrestled me to the ground and tried to limit my mobility by then forcibly (I had white knuckles) removing my keys from my fist. I tried to get to my charger and he blocked me. I still managed to get away, get outside, and I had just enough cell battery to call an uber to a hotel, and randomly had my VISA from going on a run earlier in the day. This was at like 12:30 am. I texted him where I was going though in retrospect that was a foolish thing to do. He walked over in the rain (or ubered over and stood in the rain long enough to get lightly wet - did I mention he did this to me while it was raining?), dropped off BOTH sets of my keys, said he didn't follow to make sure I was okay because he needed to "search your room to find your other set of keys so you didn't try to drive later" (?????????????????????????) and also brought my cell charger, acting the whole time like I was being some unreasonable bitch the whole time and he was just barely tolerating my inexplicable rage. And I bought into that because battered woman syndrome.

Anyway so he just filed his response to my petition. His response was that he did it because of a justification that does not meet the legal standard as far as I could see. He said that I "threatened to drive" while "obviously intoxicated and impaired" so "out of fear for her safety" which I guess was in no way threatened by being driven from my home in the middle of the night, "and for the community, I attempted to restrain her." And then he cuts to another topic with no explanation of how that attempt played out or turned out or what happened after that point. Did time just skip to the next rebuttal? WTF bro there's obviously more to the story.

The incident happened in February 2019, and domestic assault appears to have a different statute of limitations (which hasn't ended yet) than regular assault (which has). I imagine he googled regular assault and assumed he could admit to this but not battery - "attempted to restrain" - which also has not ended, so he thought he could look honest by admitting to wrongdoing long enough ago that he wouldn't face any consequences.

Full disclosure: no history of drinking, drug addiction, or driving under the influence. I had no restrictions on my license at the time. I've been pulled over but never given a moving violation. I've never been in an accident that was my fault in any way with dash cam to prove it. This was not the only time he got physical with me because he thought he had a justification, but it was the time I had a hotel receipt.

TL;DR I want to know if there's any possible justification for physically wrestling your girlfriend down to take her keys while she's still in her house that is not your house?

Transgender name change in the state of Georgia

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 08:07 PM PDT

Hello! As the title states, I am a transman looking to getting my name changed in GA, USA. I will not be going into specifics about my location for privacy reasons, but I will note that I am located in a small county.

In my state, the petition to change my name must be published in the county newspaper once a week for FOUR WEEKS. This would me in actual physical danger by exposing me to the public as transgender, as I do not live in an accepting state and an even less accepting county. I am terrified that I will be a victim of a hate crime if it is published. I also know of many people in my family that would probably object out of hate.

What are my rights in this situation? Is my case one that can be exempted from being published in the county newspaper due to the safety risks involved? I am more than willing to raise hell in court about it.

ATT contractor dug without calling 811 and cops threated to arrest me for explaining the situation

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 09:58 PM PDT

    Hello folks,

A third party contractor (contracted by AT&T) rang my bell to tell me they would have to dig in my front yard to lay a fiber optic cable line. The area they wanted to dig was in the utility easement. However, they didn't call 811 to get the area marked. I told them they didn't have my permission to dig without calling 811. They called the police on me. When the police came, I tried to explain to the officer , they were supposed to call 811 before digging.

    This was the exact conversation

"Sir can I show you texas 811 page that says this"

Officer: "No you cannot, and I can have you taken to jail for disturbing peace'

I have no idea why this escalated so quickly. A part of me wonders if that is because I have an accent, and because I am not American.

Anyway I was forced to let the contractors dig.

    I have two questions

    1. Is there anything I should do other than calling Texas 811 and telling them my yard was excavated without their permission
    2. Can I (Should I) report the officer ( I only know his last name from his badge). And obviously I don't have any material proof to document his behavior.

And finally, should I just let go of the whole episode ? More than the digging thing , I was deeply disturbed by the officer's behavior.

Husband’s name listed as Registered Agent for a company he isn’t associated with.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 03:29 PM PDT

This is a long convoluted situation but ultimately we found out my husband's name is listed as the registered agent for a business in South Carolina, established in 2012. We do not have anything to do with this business. However, his father had dealings with a guy in NY. We suspect my FIL put husband's name on this business, because at the time he had his own trucking company. As far as I understand it's illegal to have two trucking companies.

I emailed the secretary of state office. The response is that my husband resign as the registered agent. When I asked what that would do for his history as being registered agent for a company he had nothing to do with she stated that there's no way to remove him from the original Articles of Organization. This can make us seem like we were running two different trucking businesses, which if not illegal, is shady.

Is this legally considered fraud? Is this something I should/could pursue or is resigning the best course of action? Are there questions I should be asking that I haven't even considered?

    —-

This came to light recently when we were getting an insurance quote for our own trucking company. Apparently, this business is also using our address on their insurance. They likely had permission from my FIL when he lived here, but we have since purchased the home. My broker said there may be agencies that won't even quote us due to the same address for both trucking companies.

While I am working from home, my employer wants to "transfer" my job out of state so they can pay me less

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 10:24 PM PDT

I live in California and am working from home. Pre-COVID we worked in an office in a city with a $15.25 minimum wage. The company also has a separate office in North Carolina that does stuff unrelated to my job.

Last week I got this email from HR. It says, effective November 2, I will be "transferred" to the North Carolina location and earn a new wage that is far below $15.25/hour. It is going to be extremely difficult to live on that, and I don't have the money to relocate right now.

When I asked about it, they said they didn't know the reason for the transfer, but my job will be exactly the same. They also told me that assistance with relocation would be unnecessary because I can continue to work from California. Which leads me to believe they only did this to pay me less than $15.25/hour.

At least one of my coworkers got the same transfer with a similar pay cut. My manager did not even know about this before I told him.

Is this legal? Is there anything I can do?

Landlord send me an attorney's letter due in 12 days.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 04:17 PM PDT

I am located in Pennsylvania and I hired a moving company. Moving company (national franchise) damaged the exterior of my apartment building with truck. It was the movers who drove the truck and it was moving company's truck.

I advised landlord of damage and helped landlord make claim with moving company. Moving company admitted to causing damage. I was talking with both the landlord and the leasing office at this point. Then I was completely left in the dark with what happened next two weeks until I received the attorney's letter.

Landlord obtained estimate to repair damage. Moving company asked to discuss estimate with vendor. Landlord moved ahead with repairs anyway without giving time for the moving company to discuss with vendor. I did not know what was going on at the time, because it was only landlord and moving company discussing. They mostly talked through the phone not email, in other words, he said she said stories.

Today, landlord's attorney sent us a letter seeking payment. The letter says that per my lease, I am responsible for reimbursement of damages by my "invitees". The letter also says that payment is due within 12 days. What should I do next?

A local newspaper broke the story of a prominent public figure commiting sex abuse against children. I had also heard very credible rumors of this before the news story was published. There has been no trial and, as of yet, no charges have been filed against him. Can I deny him service at my business, or is that in some way discriminatory?

    Client charged back €7k

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 01:36 AM PDT

I work as a webcam model, and occasionally use paypal as a payment method. I had a 21 year old client in the states (I am based in Germany but from the UK) who spent almost €7k through PayPal on calls with me. They then charged back all of it a few months later. He obviously blocked me but had told me all about who he is during our calls so I easily tracked him down online but since he was refusing to talk to me I went for his mother. She was surprisingly understanding and we spoke several times and text about how the money was rightfully mine and she was going to clear the payments with the bank (these payments were made from the clients fathers credit card). However as time went on nothing happened and eventually PayPal told me I have to pay the money back as they had won all the chargeback cases. It reached the point where PayPal threatened debt collectors so I just paid it back hoping we would still be able to sort it privately. Perhaps unsurprisingly the mother has now blocked me. Their family is quite well-to-do. Very googleable and are, I guess, high society types. Their son, The client, is a university student and in the US navy. I'm not sure how to proceed now. I don't have a home address/email address for anyone. Would I be able to take legal action against their Son?

Unfair harassment from a work place (They keep threatening termination because of a no show which was their fault)

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 07:34 AM PDT

Is there anything i can do. My employer keeps harassing me saying there gonna terminate my job simply because i was marked as a no show for work which was their fault and nearly 1/3 of there employees were unable to log in. This is a work from home job and a lot of their servers were down which i have documented proof of, and they keep trying to say that it was my fault and it was my internet was not capable of connecting to their network which i also called my ISP and spoke with them and they told me i have the fastest package available and my past logs show that i've had 95%+ up time. Is there anything i can do? Can i record the phone calls? please help, I'm at a loss and i'm not gonna get harassed until they make me quit or find some kind of loop hole to fire me without paying unemployment. Living in New York..... sheesh automod's

Just to be more clear about this i am speaking for my wife since she is working now. We have 4 kids and are struggling to figure out our next step with this. I really think this is unfair and i am worried what her options are. If unemployment is an option i wouldn't be as worried. this really sucks cause she lost her job because of the pandemic and then quickly got her resume together and got hired for at home customer service so my wife never got the 600 a week like everyone else did. Personally i believe they are giving her trouble because she is a woman although i have no evidence of this.

(FL)My mothers estate and the lies I was told about it (step dad was executor)

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 12:23 PM PDT

My mother passed away in late August 2012. I was distraught. The next day my step father had a family friends son clean out her bank account the next day. I don't know how much money was in there I never knew. he also sold her car within a few days shortly after this. like less than a month later he was trying to have me sign papers and telling me I could get a lawyer but I probably couldn't afford one basically I was put under the impression he had the right to everything and I got nothing but I put off signing his paper because I knew it was wrong.

Flash forward to 8 years later my step father is trying to get me to sign over my portion of the home! Last week I learned my name is on my mothers house and he is trying to get me to write it all off to him so the roof can be fixed... This man hasn't indicated I am partial owner for 8 years he wouldn't let me and my kids move in when we where almost homeless... He has had all manner of his friends and family go through the house in these 8 years and probably made some sort of rent off of them even.

I want to know what my rights to my house are.

I would like to know if and how illegal it is for him to keep half the estate from me. It's my understanding under Florida law I am entitled to half the estate I looked into it when I was going through it the other day. He liquidated her assessments in the bank the day after she died so it wouldn't go through probate I know that now but wouldn't that mean that he ,my mothers friend and her son who broke into her account all stole her money? Wouldn't I be entitled to half the money he made from selling her car? Her things? Rent he charged people?

I don't know what to do or where to go with it. I'm not giving away half of my mothers house for free it's the last thing of her aside for some papers and personal effects he let me take from what he had already gone through.

He did not disclose anything about assets to me or how much went to final expenses (she was cremated he still has her sitting on a shelf in the house)

I was intentionally kept in the dark isn't he required to disclose things to me like I am part owner of a house and entitled to half her estate?

Sorry for kinnda rambling but I was trying to get it out and hopefully get a leg up from some help here if you read to this point ty.
