Legal Advice - We were supposed to close on our new house but now the seller is refusing to sign (Illinois)

We were supposed to close on our new house but now the seller is refusing to sign (Illinois)

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 09:25 AM PST

Hi! This is a super frustrating situation and I'm going to try and cover all of the details to see if anyone has any advice on where to go from here. I'm currently 8 months pregnant and my husband and I put in an offer on our dream house which was accepted back in the beginning of October. Our sales contract is pretty straightforward and offers no contingencies for the seller to back out. We were supposed to close yesterday and the wire was sent to the title company Friday morning. Friday afternoon we got a phone call from our realtor stating the seller was sick and would MAYBE need to be hospitalized and asked if we could push the closing a week. Our contract and lock expires the 27th so we asked if the seller would cover the extension fees. The seller then countered that she'd be willing to close as scheduled if she could rent the house from us for a week because she hasn't had time to finish cleaning or get her remaining items. We said no because there's currently an eviction moratorium in our state and that seemed like a dangerous situation for us to enter into with her but we agreed that between us and her agent we'd get all of her belongings safely packed up and we would handle the cleaning. She then stated we were discriminating against her because of her illness and stopped responding to everyone. Monday morning after she missed the closing she emails to state that she has a non contagious illness and was told by her doctors to not leave the premises for two weeks. She said she'd be willing to close today if she could rent the house for two weeks. Again we said no to the rent for the reasons already listed but would be willing to close with a clear date of possession of 12/7 if she helped pay for the cost of a mover, a cleaner, and someone to paint our nursery since we won't be able to take time off of work in December and I will only be a few weeks from my due date. She has now stopped responding to everyone and we are all (us, listing agent, selling agent, and our lender) just sitting here with no idea what's going to happen next. Where do we go from here?

Update: Hi Reddit! I want to thank you all for taking the time to weigh in on my situation. When I wrote this this morning, we had a phone call in to an attorney and were waiting to hear back as he was in court. Before we could talk to him though, the seller put a phone call in to her attorney. Her attorney advised her that it would be in her best interest to accept our offer to close today, with a clear date of possession of 12/7 allowing her the two weeks she asked for without the title of "renting" and that she would compensate us $3500. Upon hearing that from her attorney she decided to go ahead and sign the necessary paperwork. The lender has updated all of the necessary paperwork and our agent added the addendum to our contract which she signed and we are now on our way to the closing table.

Update #2: I left this out of my original text as I didn't think it was relevant but want to include it now because of a few comments I've read that I'm unable to respond to because comments are locked. The seller has already closed on another house and had movers pack up this house a few weeks ago. Nobody is sure on why exactly she is so reluctant to leave the property when most of her belongings are already at her new house.

(Update) I was falsely accused of having sex with a minor in the workplace and now I'm being punished for not wanting to work with the accuser.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 12:38 PM PST

    original post

    I was fired today.

I was told I was 'calling out too much' and 'not performing well recently'. I was never written up nor were these things brought to my attention, but my manager told me he didn't have to inform me of those issues.

It's ironic this is all happening right when I say I'm uncomfortable with working with the woman who accused me of having sex with a minor, more ironic that woman is my managers sister. I'm hoping to meet with an Employment Lawyer and see if I have any rights but I'm not especially hopeful.

(MA) Landlord has pattern of entering the apartment unannounced, caught on camera

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 01:51 PM PST

My fiancé and I have lived in our apartment in Boston for nearly 6 months. The apartment is in an old house that has been separated into apartments, and she lives in the apartment below ours. Since we have lived there, she has texted us multiple times in the middle of the night about noise, threatening to call the police for the noise, when we were simply walking around.

However more recently, she has entered the apartment without our consent. First, she did so after she texted us asking to shovel her parking spot (a request not in the lease and not the tenant's responsibility per MA law). We ignored the text because we were working from home and busy, but she decided that a lack of response within 30 min warranted entering the apartment with her master key unannounced. When she entered, we told her this was against the law and that she cannot enter without our consent and prior notice in the absence of an emergency. Days later, we woke up to the sound of her turning her key to unlock our door. We confronted her at the door and told her again that it is not okay for her to enter our apartment like this. Her motive for that instance was that she wanted us to give her the rent check early because she wanted to go to the bank. She texted us 20-30 min prior to entering but we were asleep and did not see the texts.

The most recent incident really put us over the edge. We are out of town, and decided to set up pet cameras to keep an eye on our cat. We got a notification about motion detection and soon realized that the landlord had entered the apartment without us there and was snooping around. She even adjusted the rug to make it appear that she had not been in there! We have a recording of the video saved. She did not call or text us prior to this instance, and ignored our text when we asked if she was in our apartment and why she was there. We are worried sick about our cat being at the apartment with this landlord breaking and entering as he might get scared and escape out the door (among the other things we are worried about with this massive invasion of privacy).

We really do not know the best way to proceed. It seems like every option to break the lease or provide a restraining order is time consuming and costly. We have tried to find resources in the Boston area for tenants but none are available for free unless we are near the poverty line or live in public housing (neither applies to us). Is there any way to get out of this lease without a financial hit, given that we have the landlord on video entering our apartment without our consent and multiple documented instances of her entering announced? Thank you for your advice.

[NY] Employer gave 5 day holiday break in July for every employee, now Employer is retroactively forcing everyone to count that 5 days against their PTO

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 11:17 AM PST

July: Employer sends notice that the company is giving a 5 day break to everyone to reward them for working hard during covid. It's very obvious from the email this was unrelated to PTO. There is no mention of PTO.

November: Company announces that everyone needs to count the 5 days against their PTO.

    Is this legal?

BIG Bank Shrugs Off $10k Mishap That Allegedly Cost 96 y/o Great Grandma her Life Savings/Insurance

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 07:43 PM PST

    [IL- Legal Advice Bank Error]

[TL/Summary Start] We need your ideas and advice urgently, please help! Widowed Great Grandma (GiGi) made her monthly universal life insurance payments of $XX.00 on-time since 1989 (40-years) without being late once. Her bank merged for the third time, new banks payment system failed. GG notified bank in person about missed payment, financial advisor (FA) apologized for the "mishap" and reinstated the auto-pay. Then it happened again -- GiGi notified bank again, same assurance was given, but this time GiGi demanded FA reach out to insurance company and explain "mishap" and more importantly pay missed premium plus costs ($XXX.00). She was told by same FA Bank has "resolved the issue". Bank did nothing, Gigi lost _$10k policy was cancelled and now bank "GHOST" us. What's our option? Small claims, Civil, Breach of Contract? HELP!! [TL/Summary End]

More detail here. Have to go back twenty years -- as consumer bill paying technology advanced, the insurance company requested that GG's monthly Life Insurance payments had to be processed as a debit to her bank checking account instead of the monthly check she would hand write and get to the post office to mail to them each month.

Last year, her bank merged for the third time in twenty years. Really nothing new to her and she delt with the change as usual in her own silent way, never complained and also as usual, received a letter from the new bank president assuring her that the merger and her checking account would continue as it had with the previous two banks.

Unfortunately, this time, as we would later find out, the new bank dropped her monthly auto pay to the insurance company during it's first month of operation. GG is true old school, she would go to the back and check on her payment each month. Her bank statement came and there was no correction, explanation, footnote, NOTHING. The Bank and FA didn't do anything -- essentially they lied to her. The insurance company claimed they told the bank GG's policy was pending cancellation and that additional fees/interest was due along with the missed payments, but due to the circumstances, they (insurance company) would reinstate GG's policy once bank forwarded total funds due ($700) with a fast approaching deadline date. Again, the bank did nothing.

GG received a copy of that letter and by then her $10K Whole Life policy had termed out. She was only months away from full value. I can't write anything here that would come close to you understanding her disappointment, sadness, sense of loss, confusion and tears. That policy was all she had, it was only $10k, but it was the world to her and a way to pay for her funeral expenses without creating an additional burden to our unemployed family right now.

Rest assured, we didn't sit idle, called, wrote letters, went in person over 30 times. Banks decision making group was out of state we were told along with other excuses: "He's at lunch", "She's on a conference call", "someone will call you back today before 1500CT., and finally nothing at all. We all still have fight in us, if there is anything, any option available, we'll do it. We are capable and responsible. Unfortunately like most, we've gone through our savings, unemployment has stopped, we're selling the car and we're getting by with the basic survival essentials. We know in the end we'll be okay and we only ask for your time, advice, guidance and ideas. Happy Thanksgiving to all (except to that $#&@! Bank :)

Mother who owes $40k in child support just passed away.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 05:25 PM PST

Is it possible to get anything for my kids now that she has passed? I have no idea if she had any assets or life insurance. For the last 5 years we've had almost no contact. She moved to Hawaii and would not let anyone know anything about her, even her parents. ORS said they could not find any information if she had been employed or not. He husband said she had been "legit" working the entire time. Not sure why ORS was not able to find her. I was able to get survivors benifits for my youngest since he's slightly under 18. I would just like to be able to give both my/our kids something from her.

I assume I need to contact a family attorney. I'm just wondering if its worth the time?

(CA) Advice for how to deal with a landlord who has entered rental property without permission multiple times.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 12:51 PM PST

I've rented a guest house in West Los Angeles since December of 2018. Initially I loved the unit as it offered me privacy and a yard for my dog, although there always seemed to be something slightly off about my landlord.

After living there for about three months I started noticing little things that seemed odd. I use the Philips Hue bulbs for all of my lights which I control with my phone. Every once in a while I would come home and all of the light switches had physically been turned off, which was odd because like I said I control my lights with my phone. I wondered if my landlord had been entering the unit and flipping all of the switches, but figured I may have just mistakenly flipped the switches without thinking.

One day in May of 2019 I left work early to get some sleep because I had worked an all-nighter. I was laying in my bed around 1PM trying to take a nap when suddenly my landlord opens the entrance door to my bedroom and nonchalantly walks in. He didn't notice me at first until I said something. He froze and looked panicked, then said "Sorry, I thought I heard something," before quickly leaving. I was pretty mortified because of course now I'm thinking I wasn't just paranoid and he was entering the guest house when I wasn't there all along.

The next morning when I was leaving for work he approached me and tried to apologize, saying he "thought there was an emergency." I was pretty upset and pressed him for specifics on what he thought the emergency was. He couldn't tell me anything specific because we both knew there wasn't an emergency. I asked him if he had gone in there before without permission and he was adamant that he never had. I told him what he did was against our rental agreement and that he had to give me 24 hours notice before he ever entered the guest house. He said repeatedly that he "respected my privacy" and "wouldn't ever do it again." I considered moving, but decided to stay because I couldn't find a comparable rental property in the area for a similar price. I also decided to buy a camera for peace of mind.

I never saw him enter my unit on camera since that incident...until now.

I was out of town for two weeks this month and about a week after I left I received a notification on my phone that activity was detected in the guest house. I checked the video and sure enough he entered the unit, walked around each room, and even looked through my closet. I have the video of the incident saved.

At this point I definitely want to find a new place to live, but I also want some portion of my rent refunded. I've read online that I can take him to civil court and sue him for up to $10,000.

Does anybody have any advice on action to take or a lawyer I can reach out to? I haven't confronted him about the situation yet. Just trying to figure out my options before I do anything.

    Thank you!

(KY) Facebook live seller messaging my neighbors and friends trying to find me

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 09:18 AM PST

A woman that sells pallet items on Facebook contacted me a few days ago offering tvs. I didn't have the money and tried to tell her thanks but no thanks. I had purchased items off her before always paid and only had small issues.

I tried to tell her I'll pass on the tvs but she was set on me buying these tvs. She doesn't have the tvs claims her supplier does and their holding them for her. She kept sending payment requests and calling my phone. I blocked her this morning my neighbors come knocking and told me this woman was looking for me.

She had messaged my neighbor saying I owed her for the tvs she stuck her neck out for and demanding they put me on the phone with her. Then my friends and other neighbors started saying the same thing. It appears shes going through my friends list trying to find me.

I don't understand why this is happening. Ive told her no and asked to be left alone this is stressful and having my neighbors put into this is crazy. How can I make this stop? Is this considered legal what shes doing?

Being taken to court over protective order I have against someone?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 11:40 AM PST

Manitoba, Canada I have a protective order against an ex. I've just been notified that I'm being taken to court because he wants it to be revoked? He was abusive during and after the relationship, he kept threatening to ruin my life. I had to move and keep my location private. he came to my work one day with false allegations in an attempt to get my fired. HR gave me the day off and I went and applied for a protection order, it was accepted and he was served papers the following day. It's been one month and now he's taking me to court to have it revoked, I honestly fear for my safety. I can't afford a lawyer because I've spent my money moving into a new house to get away from him. I need some advice, what do I do if the judge cancels my protection order against him?

(OH) My apartment complex charged us a bogus fee after writing negative reviews. What do I do?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 03:42 AM PST

My husband and I are currently under a 1-year lease after resigning in May 2020. Around that time, the apartment complex changed to a new management. We had many grievances after the complex changed ownership. We decided to post a review on Google saying what we disliked about the place and our negative experiences with the management. I also filed complaints with the BBB.

One of our grievances was that the dog park needs more mulch, because the concrete below is exposed and the dogs are slipping when they're trying to run. Other tenants had been complaining about it for months as well. A day later, the management responded to the review. It was very passive aggressive "sorry you feel that way" response.

Later that week, we received a letter saying "Congrats on your new pet" even though we've had our dog for a year now. It also said that they already charged us a $200 pet deposit. Yet we signed our lease during a promotion where they waived the pet deposit. We only had to pay the monthly pet rent. Since it was the weekend, we had to wait until Monday to call the office.

We called the office immediately on Monday. The product manager, "Janice," immediately became defensive when we called to complain about the pet deposit. She told us that our reviews were "lies" and that we never told them we had a dog. We told her that we disclosed that we've had our dog since Sept 2019, and we signed our lease when they had the "no pet deposit" promotion. The day after we got our dog, we gave the now-former manager our adoption papers and vet records. When making maintenance requests, we've always told them that we had a dog and they told us to crate him. There is a clear paper trail of our dog living with us and the maintenance seeing our dog.

We were told when renewing our lease that the promotion still stands, and we are exempt from the fee. (Note: the management hadn't transitioned over completely yet when we renewed.) She wasn't listening to us at all. She said that they have so many tenants and can't keep track of the tenants with pets (as if that's our problem). She refused to take off the charge on our account and then hung up. We're planning on calling again tomorrow.

She made it clear to us that she charged us a pet deposit in retaliation for the reviews we posted. Either they're incompetent and lost our records of us having a dog or they charged us out of spite. Either way, we've had enough of this place and want to get out of the lease.

What do we do in this situation? Is this grounds for legal action? Would the charge count as retaliatory action?

Our lease had no mention of us having to pay a pet deposit. We reviewed our lease and it was left blank on our list of charges.

    Timeline:

May 2019 - first signed lease for apartment

Sept 2019 - got a dog and started paying pet fee but no pet deposit

May 2020 - resigned lease and was told that we didn't have a pet deposit

Nov 14 - posted negative review on Google

Nov 15 - filed BBB complaint about dog park's condition

Nov 16 - management responded to review on Google

Nov 20 - Received letter about paying a pet deposit

Nov 23 - Called management to complain

My landlord or Super possibly almost killed me and my partner by installing an illegal fireplace

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 05:39 PM PST

So in California it has been starting to get cold, so naturally me and my partner don't want to be cold and use the gas heater our apartment has to warm up. During this time my partner has been having all kind of strange ailments happen. They claimed they had tightness of chest, breathing issues and generally feeling strange. They also have asthma and other health issues which I do not have. I feel bad, but I kind of brushed them off and chalked it up to maybe having anxiety and making the asthma worse.

Well this happen to coincide with PG&E wanting to do an inspection and making sure our heater and doors were ok for the winter to save on our heating bill. So we made the appointment and low and behold our heating system is illegal in the state of California.

The reason it's illegal: it is a gas heater with no ventilation for its gas vapors. So they uninstalled it and gave our landlord a hazard notice. They guy who uninstalled literally said he doesn't even know how you could get one of them in the state of California because they've been illegal for years. He said they were illegal because they can literally kill someone from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Well we read the notices and instructions all over the damn heater and it literally says "DO NO INSTALL WITHOUT PROPER VENTILATION", and it literally has none. The heater is also right next to our bed where we have been cozying up to this thing every night for about two weeks. We obviously had no clue this thing was hazardous.

Well me and partner are extremely worried that we have been exposed to low levels of carbon monoxide for almost a year now and about the long term effects on our health now knowing this. We are also absolutely furious our landlords and superintendent would allow us to live in such dangerous conditions without getting some sort of inspection to install it. I don't believe the superintendent has any kind of qualifications to deal with gas and electric appliance installations and don't know who they would have hired to do so, when someone who would be qualified would know it is illegal.

Don't know what legal actions can be taken here. We are currently seeking a medical professionals help for my partners symptoms, who is also extremely distressed that they've potentially made their health issues even worse.

I think my insurance company is committing fraud?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 05:50 AM PST

I am temporarily working in a call center environment in FL for a well known Fortune 500 company (learning this was a shock to me). They are severely understaffed and underpay everyone in the company trying to exploit as much labor as possible. Their technology doesn't even work properly and when you complain of an issue, they try to pin it on you gaslight your issue and say to contact IT and they have no solution.

These technical issues end up collecting a lot of insured money as a result of their technology not working properly and a lot of customers call in about it and we're told to basically sweep it under the rug and provide a temporary solution that isn't a solution. Mind you, this is even if the customer notices.

For example: if the insured wants to sign up for automatic payments to be pulled from their bank account, we have a defect that will say either that there is no account or it will just automatically remove their account information regardless if they've authorized payment. This then causes the customer to incur late fees and when the policy cancels, they incur a reinstatement fee as well as additional premium they have to pay as a result of any lapses on their policy.

That's just ONE issue but I've started working with them in January of this year and it's been a known "defect" since. We're advised to tell customers that it's being fixed next weekend but there is no estimated time on it to fix.

Is this a valid complaint or would it be considered fraud?

Where can I get a court admissible paternity DNA test in Louisiana

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 07:50 PM PST

I (29F) live in BC, Canada. My bio dad 61/M/Louisiana) is heading into hospice and I would like to get him on my birth certificate and possibly get dual citizenship.

I know that it's a process that will take some time and won't be able to do all of it before he dies. He's willing to do the DNA test but I've been calling all sorts of numbers for months trying to figure out where he needs to go to get tested for paternity DNA for it to be legally binding and I can't believe it took me so long to think of reddit. Here in Canada is one company that does it, Life Labs and I can't find a straight answer for the US. All I need is a legal paternity DNA test. I have 2 half siblings also in Louisiana so the dual citizenship stuff can wait I just really want to get the DNA testing done.

I have all the Canadian side figured out I just need the American info and it's turning out to be really difficult.

I'm running out of time and I'm starting to freak out. I'd appreciate any and all help! Thank you in advance

Can an employer fire an employee for filing a wage complaint?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 03:40 PM PST

I'm gonna try to keep this short so let me know if anymore information is needed. My employer didn't pay my tips and said they weren't paid to me so she could cover business losses. I told her that was illegal and she said she didn't know how to reallocate tips so she never paid them back. I filed a wage complaint and spoke with someone from L&I who requested that she pay me my missing tips. She is now trying to haggle my start date and days worked and while I was looking for the screenshots of my clocked hours and paystubs she accidentally texted me "oh I'm fucking firing her." This is in Washington state. Is there anything I can do? Can she legally fire me? Should I contact the L&I person or file another complaint somewhere?

CA - Landlord Evicted Me During Eviction Moratorium. Is Now Suing Me Claiming I "Broke The Lease".

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 07:05 PM PST

Some more detail here. My ex-Landlord has been harassing me since late March. Our County had an eviction moratorium in place that included no-fault evictions from March to the end of July. The moratorium stated eviction notices could not be served during this time (not just about eviction cases being heard). My landlord served me notice in March and then again a few days later on April 1st. I informed him of the moratorium and also informed him of AB1482 which prohibited this particular no-fault eviction. He continued regardless and in August began refusing to accept my rent payments.

I was able to move out in mid-September and gave 15 days notice that I had found a new place and would be out by the end of that month. I also let him know in the letter that I had canceled both August and September rent checks. I would have given this notice at the beginning of September but I didn't secure a new place until the 14th. I was technically moved out by September 17th but we did the final walkthrough on September 30th.

He sent me a Deposit Itemization in the mail stating I owed rent, late fees, and dishonored check fees for August, September, and October. I wrote a letter of contestation and he filed against me in small claims, stating I broke the lease and owe him around $3,000. I can understand him wanting the rent for August and September but can he actually attach a bunch of late fees and dishonored check fees if I gave him the checks and he refused to deposit them? Can he charge me for October if I wasn't in possession of the unit at that time? Any links to relevant CA law is appreciated.

Roommate is suing me for wrongful eviction .

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 06:12 PM PST

Hawai'i US Long story short a roommate from last year served me papers for civil court suing for "wrongful eviction ". Rooommate moved in with my husband and I and our minor child last year (Aug 2019 ) . He was in the lease along with all of us as well. We do not own the house. In October 2019 roommate ran off the rails with drugs etc and ended up getting fired from our business (we had given him a job as well) . He then left to move in with his current girlfriend as he didn't want to pay rent to us anymore . Whatever, we thought that was the end of it. There was a little bit of back and forth with him picking up his tools from the business and back pay that was owed him. All of this was returned to him. And he was paid for the work he did.

Fast forward to today , I was served with court papers saying I'm to appear in court in 5 days (2 working days) to answer his complaint of "wrongful eviction " from the house . What should I tell the judge? That he just up and left last year? Could we be somehow legally responsible that he choose to move out ? TIA

Human Resources received an unemployment claim for me that someone else filed (I am still employed)

I live in Louisiana and am thankfully employeed full time.

This week, I received noticed from my senior Human Resources head that they received an unemployment claim from the state for me. I informed her that I did not file the claim and she can (and did) inform the state that it is a fraudulent claim not filed by me. At her suggestion, I also reported it as a fraudulent claim at:

    https://www2.laworks.net/Forms/UI_ReportSuspectedFraudForm.asp

On my own initiative, I checked all of my credit reports.

What other actions should I take to prevent / mitigate / detect future problems?

What personal information of mine can I assume that the person, who filed the fraudulent claim, has in his / her possession?

This is not my property, but my in-laws. A contractor did an asphalt driveway at the neighbors, and it looked terrible from the get-go. They have not spoken with the neighbors, but the contractor has been back 3 times, clearly to redo it. The problem comes in where they dumped the asphalt in my in laws woods. This isn't a small amount either - roughly an 8ft diameter area. They are going to contact them to clean it up tomorrow, but based on the shoddy work they have done on the driveway I have my doubts this will get resolved properly. What steps should they be ready to take? Thanks in advance.

    Empancipation (I`m 15)

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 10:10 PM PST

I am a 15 year old living in Australia. My mother is verbally, mentally and emotionally abusive. Living at my home is incredibly hard and I dont think I can do 3 more years. I want to get empancipated at 16. I am in the process of getting a job and I have a place to live with my best friend.

I have done my own research into it but I would also like some more help if possible.

I would like some advice on ways to get empancipated and the whole process of it.

grandmother wants us to sell her house after she dies but, we dont want to.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 01:30 PM PST

My grandmother said that her will states that her house is to be sold after she dies and the money split between us. None of my siblings want to sell the house though and the only reason she wants it sold is because "the neighbors would think poorly of us if the grandchildren moved into the grandmothers house". which is clearly an insane idea. Is there a way around this will requirement? like if we came together and bought the house or something? Theres no talking her out of changing her will because her mind has already started to deteriorate clearly. Location:NYC

Does the introduction of Comcast datacap mid contract allow for early termination without a fee?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 03:23 PM PST

I'm looking to switch to Fios, in the middle of a 2 year contract, once the datacap goes in place in January.

Based on this sentence in section 4 of the terms of service, I think I have an argument:

"If any material change negatively affects your Service(s), you have the right to cancel your Service(s). Your continued receipt of the Service(s) for more than 30 days after the change, however, will constitute your acceptance of the change."

(CA) Can an employer give me a pay-cut and enact it for my upcoming paycheck?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 07:44 PM PST

Today I was notified of a relatively large (25-30%) paycut, active for my next paycheck. However, my next paycheck is 11/30, which includes at least 12 days of work prior to be given this notice. I am salary and my employer plans to take the full paycut from my salary. Is this legal? I know the paycut is legal, but how can they possibly pay me less for this next paycheck, since I already worked those hours under the impression I'd get paid in full?

Suppliers have never come to pick up their things after 3 years

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 09:28 AM PST

So my in my dad's store we still have some things our suppliers sent to us. The thing is we never paid for them and still after 3 years they never came to take them back, and never asked too. Can we throw them away? What should we do?
